Lanora Jennings started her bookselling career at the age of 10 at her grandmother's bookstore. Her payment for shelving books was to take one home. She worked at Borders Books & Music in the early 1990s. She has worked for three great independent bookstores: Politics & Prose in Washington, DC, Harry W. Schwartz Bookshops in Milwaukee (1927-2009), and Rainy Day Books in Kansas City, KS. She owned her own bookstore for a brief but wonderful time. She has served on the ABA's BAC and on the board of MIBA. Jennings is currently the Midwest Sales Representative for Princeton University Press and Yale University Press. She lives in a small town north of Milwaukee, WI with her partner and 5 cats.
