About the In-Person [margins.] Conference + Book Festival
Join The Word this fall 2024 to explore Reclamation!
At [margins.] 2024, we ground ourselves in reclaiming our space, truth, and context. We explore a creative practice that is ours to define, ours to make fully embodied.
In 2023, we explored releasing expectations for literary practice that are not defined to serve our greatest visions. Let us build upon that liberation, let us move to reclaiming what we know can be.
Here's what we did last year! https://www.thewordfordiversity.org/margins

The Word is committed to serving as many people with our programs as possible, including the biannual [margins.] conference. While we may not be able to honor every request, the reduced/free registration option aims to increase access to the conference and festival for those who qualify. Individuals qualify for the reduced/free registration option based on: 1) Identifying as from a historically marginalized group based on racial, cultural, ethnic, or religious identity; gender identity; sexual orientation; physical, cognitive, or emotional disability; socioeconomic adversity; and personal experiences of adversity or injustice, AND 2) Their financial need.
